Planning and Land Use Lunch & Learn Series

The four 90-minute sessions focused on planning and land use topics are moderated by specialists at the Local Government Center in Madison. Join us at a local (remote) listening site for the session and enjoy networking with local colleagues over a brown bag lunch afterward. AICP and CLE credits are available for those who attend.

These workshops are FREE if you attend in-person at our remote listening site.

If you would like to register to attend remotely from your own workplace, you can register directly through the Local Government Center at a cost of $20/session.

Although land use planning is often accompanied by conflict, effective, proactive communication between local planning officials and the public can go a long way to minimize conflict. It can also inform the planning process by ensuring that the interests, concerns, and values of the public and other community stakeholders are understood by planners and considered when planning decisions are made. This session will describe several public participation strategies and techniques that support an inclusive and civil planning process. Presented by: Bill Rizzo, Professor, UW-Extension (retired)
