Pesticide Applicator Training

Every year the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Extension offers Pesticide Applicator Training (PAT) certification. You MUST be licensed to purchase and apply restricted use pesticides in the state of Wisconsin. Extension county offices usually offer day long classes and testing during the winter months to accommodate this need. This year, due to the ongoing pandemic, individuals seeking certification will need to purchase materials online. Participants are asked to take the certification exam online. At this time no in person testing will be available.

*UPDATE!* DATCP has announced that the State of Wisconsin will be giving certification extensions for those certifications that have expired after January 31, 2020. If you need a new certification or a new category, online tests will be made available in both Commercial and Private categories.  These will provide a temporary certification that expires Dec, 31, 2021.

More information about this announcement can be found in this letter or by visiting the UW Pesticide Applicator Training Program website.

Please see the attached letter for instructions on how to complete the 2021 training, testing, and certification protocol required to be licensed.

Please contact the Outagamie County Extension office if you have questions or need further assistance.
