“A Century of 4-H: Past, Present, and Future”
Capture the essence of 4-H’s impact in our community over the past 100 years, whether through nature, agriculture, community service, or any other 4-H-related activity. We want to see how 4-H has shaped you, your family, and your community!

Eligibility:

  • Open to all 4-H members and community members residing in Outagamie County.
  • Participants will be divided into categories by age group:
    • Ages 5-7 (Junior Group)
    • Ages 8-12 (Intermediate Group)
    • Ages 13-15 (Teen Group)
    • Ages 16-19 (Senior Group)
    • Adults (20+)

Categories:

Participants can submit entries in three of the following categories:

  1. Nature & Environment: Showcase the beauty of our land, animals, and the environment that 4-H celebrates.
  2. Community & People: Capture the spirit of teamwork, leadership, and community service in 4-H.
  3. Heritage & History: Reflect on 4-H’s 100-year legacy—old photos, vintage 4-H memorabilia, or moments that connect past to present.
  4. 4-H Activities & Projects: Highlight 4-H’s hands-on learning through projects like gardening, science experiments, livestock care, and more.

Rules & Guidelines:

  • Photos must be original and taken by the participant.
  • Each participant may submit up to 3 photos per category, 3 categories max.
  • Photo must be in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Photos can be in color or black-and-white.
  • No digitally altered images (except for cropping and minor enhancements).
  • All entries must be submitted by May 30 via OC4H100@gmail.com.
  • Include a brief description of the photo (50-100 words).

Judging Criteria:

  • Creativity & Originality
  • Relevance to the theme of 4-H
  • Composition & Technical Quality
  • Emotional Impact & Storytelling

Prizes:

  • Grand Prize: One winner from each age group will receive a special 4-H Centennial gift and a $25 gift card.
  • Honorable Mentions: Recognition in each category for outstanding work will receive a Dairy Bar Coupon for the fair.

Exhibit & Awards:

  • Date & Location: August 14, Center Town Hall & November 8, Colonial House, Freedom
  • Exhibit Opening: The photo contest winners and other entries will be displayed at two events that are planned to celebrate the centennial.
  • Awards: Winners will be notified and listed in the August/September Connections Newsletter.

How to Enter:

  1. Take a photo that fits the theme and your chosen category/categories
  2. Submit your photo(s) by May 30 via email OC4H100@gmail.com
  3. Don’t forget to include the category, brief photo caption, your name and age in the email.
