University of Wisconsin- Madison Extension and Nutrient Pest Management have collaborated to create a “Focus on Forage” series that will provide farmers with strategies to optimize forage yield, quality, and profitability.

Sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. beginning January 13, 2021 and run through March 3, 2021.

Topics will include Corn Silage, Alfalfa, Grass and Mixed Grass Forages, Small Grain Forages, and more. 2019 World Forage Analysis Superbowl winner, Aaron Barclay, Outagamie County will share his strategies for award winning alfalfa haylage. Kevin Jarek, Crops and Soils Agent, Extension Outagamie County, discusses Managing Alfalfa in Wisconsin’s Changing Forage Landscape on January 20th. February 10 will be the Midwest Forage Association (MFA) statewide webinar specifically for local Forage Councils across the state of Wisconsin. Chelsea Russell, Local Council Director, will give an update on MFA activities over the past year and Tom Kilcer, Advanced Ag Systems, will be the keynote providing the latest research and developments with grass/alfalfa mixed stands.
